Celtic Equine Vets is an exclusively equine ambulatory practice with five equine only vets covering West Hampshire, South Wilshire and East Dorset. The practice area extends to a 25 mile radius from our base in Minstead-near Cadnam in The New Forest.

Celtic Equine Vets is a modern equine only veterinary practice founded by Alan Hough (MVB Dublin) with the aim of providing experienced equine vets offering a professional, reliable, personal and cost effective service. The Celtic Equine Vets team is made up of Alan Hough (Director and Veterinary Surgeon),  Caroline Gillespie (Veterinary Surgeon), Emma Hil (Veterinary Surgeon), Georgie Hough (Practice Manager), Laura Russell (Office Manager), Jenny Woodhouse, Sarah Bessant, Sophie Budd and Joanne Leak(Office Administrators).

We aim to provide the highest standard of routine and emergency care at very affordable and competitive prices all at your premises for all types of horses and ponies from professional athletes to happy hacks.

Celtic Equine Vets has invested in fully portable equipment including digital radiography for each vet, portable battery powered ultrasound, portable video endoscopy and gastroscope which ensure all procedures can be carried out at the our clients premises. Most of the equipment is battery powered which allows us to work at premises and fields without mains electric.

Alan, Caroline and Emma have over 30 years equine experience between them. Alan is hugely experienced in all aspects of first opinion equine medicine, holds a post graduate qualification in Equine Practice and has a particularly strong interest in equine dentistry and equine reproductive medicine. Caroline has completed an equine internship in Cambridge and has a particular interest in equine lameness and ophthalmology. Emma has completed an equine internship at Donnington Grove Equine Hospital and enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary but has a particular passion for equine lameness.
